![]() The complexity of suffering is no easy thing to depict on screen, but Johnson's ownership of Ellie's character throughout it all is nothing short of awards worthy, aided seamlessly by Naughty Dog's cutting edge facial animation technology, which lets even the slightest change in body language speak a thousand words.Įllie is surrounded by an equally compelling cast of characters, too, with new additions like Shannon Woodward's Dina, Stephen Chang's Jesse, and many others quickly proving themselves to be as well-rounded and multi-dimensional as the game's returning cast of familiar faces. As with the original game, Naughty Dog cunningly exploits the interactivity of its medium with masterful assuredness, forcing players to take a cold, hard look at every action they make as Ellie, with all the discomfort and distress that entails.Īt the heart of it all, however, is Ellie, once again textured with incredible warmth and humanity by Ashley Johnson, in the kind of performance that we'll still be talking about years from now. I won't divulge any more details beyond that, but suffice to say that what starts out as a fairly straightforward tale of retribution morphs into something far more complex, surprising, and sinister. This pursuit takes our teenage heroine away from the rural pastures of Jackson County and deep into the urban overgrowth of Seattle, a city that experienced a very different kind of societal breakdown to The Last of Us' Boston, and thus poses its own unique threats to Ellie's survival. Set five years after the events of her pan-American odyssey with Joel, an indescribably traumatic opening episode leaves Ellie hellbent on a crusade to hunt down those responsible for a seemingly unforgivable crime. Use the kingpin to keep things straight and tap out the upper bushing. Now slide the kingpin into the upper bushing and slide the old lower bushing over it and on to the upper bushing. Chuck the steering knuckle firmly into the vise and, using a drift, drive the lower bushing out from the top. If it is at all worn, discolored or pitted, replace it with a new one.Ī large bench vise is required for the next step. Inspect the thrust bearing for wear as well. If the kingpins are discolored, worn or galled, they need to be replaced too. If the bushings are worn, grooved or loose, they must be replaced. The steering knuckle and its thrust bearing can now be pulled out easily. If the kingpin is stuck in place, tap it out using a hammer and drift. Remove the swaging from the bottom of the steering knuckle as well, and then use a drift to drive the kingpin down against the lower cap and pop it out. Pop the top cap out using a stout screwdriver. Use a hammer and chisel to cut away the peenedover metal, then use a punch to make a hole in the top cap. Soft metal caps on the top and bottom on the steering knuckle protect the kingpins, and these caps are held in place by metal that has been swaged over from the edges of the steering knuckle. New bushings must be installed so the hole in them lines up with the grease fitting. With the kingpin removed the steering knuckle and spindle comes out easily. So you can use it as a drift while driving in the new bushing. (To be sure you’re on the safe side eye protection is always a good idea during any project.) Don’t use a hardened drift because-as they said in your high school shop class- bashing two hardened steel surfaces together can cause bits of shrapnel to go careening into your eyes and face, necessitating a humiliating trip to the nurse’s office. Remove the nut holding it in, and then tap it out using a hammer and soft metal drift. Next take out the horizontal pin holding the kingpin in place on the axle. Take them out and set the brake assembly aside in such a way that you don’t put any strain on the hydraulic hose feeding the wheel cylinder. There are four large bolts holding it on. Now remove the entire front brake assembly, backing plate and all. The inner bearing and its seal usually come off with the wheel, but if it stays behind, pull it off of the spindle and then wipe away any excess grease. Just grab the tire firmly and pull it off of the spindle. Pull off the washer holding in the outer wheel bearing, and then pull out the bearing and its inner race. Pull out their cotter keys and remove these nuts. Under them you will find large, preloaded castellated nuts that hold the wheel bearings in place. Pull out the cotter pin and take off the main wheel nut. Spread newspaper or plastic tarps on the floor around and under the front wheels, and then pop off the wheel covers. Put your truck up on sturdy jack stands in front, and block the wheels in back. The task is actually pretty simple, and can be done at home using hand tools. The problem is you need to replace your truck’s kingpins and bushings. The heart of the problem is simply that ZEXCS, like many other studios, have made a screenplay that is nothing more than a "cut and paste" rendition of the original source material. This is exacerbated by the constant mood swings that occur from one episode to the next, and the addition of seemingly random comedy scenes give the viewer the sense that even the show itself has no idea what's going to happen next. The narrative suffers from a distinct lack of timely explanations, and events can lead the audience on a merry dance as they struggle to keep up with the storyline. It's actually surprising how many people don't know the meaning or usage of the word, but rather than comment on the failure of education systems, let's have a look at how "epic" applies to an anime like Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu (or The Legend of the Legendary Heroes, whatever floats your boat).
